a focus on Mbarara University of Science and Technology. The study specifically investigated the effects of Mentorship and
Sponsorship, Training and Skill Development, Work-Life Balance Policies, and Promotion Fairness on the professional advancement
of female academic and administrative staff. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative data from structured
questionnaires administered to 48 female staff members with qualitative insights from in-depth interviews. Multiple linear regression
analysis was conducted to determine the relationship between the independent variables and women’s development. The results
revealed that the combined effect of Mentorship and Sponsorship, Training and Skill Development, Work-Life Balance Policies,
and Promotion Fairness significantly predicted women’s development, accounting for 67.4% of the variance (R² = 0.674, Adjusted
R² = 0.652, p < 0.001). Among the predictors, Promotion Fairness had the strongest positive influence (B = 0.312, p = 0.001),
followed by Training and Skill Development (B = 0.285, p = 0.001), Work-Life Balance Policies (B = 0.241, p = 0.002), and
Mentorship and Sponsorship (B = 0.219, p = 0.002). Qualitative findings further supported these results, with respondents indicating
that transparent promotion procedures, access to professional development programs, supportive work-life balance measures, and
structured mentorship significantly enhanced their career progression and professional confidence. One respondent noted, “Through
training and mentorship, I have gained the skills and confidence to pursue leadership positions I previously thought were
unreachable.” The study concluded that women’s development at Mbarara University of Science and Technology was significantly
influenced by institutional policies and programs that promote fairness, skill enhancement, work-life support, and mentorship. It was
recommended that the university strengthen equitable promotion practices, expand training and skill development opportunities,
institutionalize comprehensive work-life balance policies, and establish formal mentorship and sponsorship programs to enhance
women’s career growth. These interventions were deemed essential for creating an inclusive and empowering academic environment
that fosters professional advancement and leadership opportunities for female staff

Authors: David Balogun1 , Mark Ochala2 , Moses Shaibu3 , Musa Zakari4

Keywords: E-Recruitment Practices, application processes, career websites, online assessments and automated shortlisting

The research investigated the influence of E-Recruitment methodologies on the application and evaluation processes
within the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). The study utilized the Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) Theory as its
conceptual framework to elucidate how technological advancements are embraced and enacted within public
organizations. A descriptive survey combined with documentary analysis was employed as the research design. The
study's population comprised 1,950 NIS officers and recruitment personnel across the country, from which a sample
of 332 respondents was derived using the Taro Yamane formula. The simple random sampling method was applied to
guarantee equitable representation among various departments. Data collection involved a structured questionnaire aimed at gathering pertinent information regarding career websites, online assessments, automated shortlisting, as well as application processes and evaluations. Secondary data were sourced from official NIS recruitment documentation, policy materials, and relevant literature. Descriptive statistics, including frequency distributions and simple percentages, were employed to summarize demographic and response data, while inferential statistics, notably Pearson
correlation analysis, were utilized to evaluate the research hypotheses. The analysis indicated that the first hypothesis was statistically significant at r = 0.684 with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.005), demonstrating a robust positive correlation between career websites and online assessments when considering staff ICT proficiency. The second hypothesis was also statistically significant at r = 0.592 with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.005), highlighting a moderate positive relationship between career websites and automated shortlisting when the same controls were applied. Additionally, the third hypothesis was statistically significant at r = 0.676 with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.005), indicating a strong
positive correlation between career websites and application processes as well as evaluation. The findings across all hypotheses showed that the effective use of e-recruitment systems markedly enhanced the speed, objectivity, and transparency of recruitment activities within NIS. In conclusion, the study affirmed that the integration of e-recruitment practices, particularly through well-structured career websites, was pivotal in improving recruitment results. Recommendations included that the Nigeria Immigration Service should continually enhance its systems to provide user-friendly interfaces, comprehensive search functionalities, and detailed job descriptions to facilitate applicant navigation and application completion. Furthermore, the automated shortlisting system should be consistently optimized to mitigate bias, enhance selection accuracy, and ensure adherence to organizational
recruitment standards.

Optimal Staffing Models in Dynamic Organizations: A Renewal-Theoretic Approach to Manpower Planning with Stochastic Employee Turnover

Authors: Anumolu Goparaju1*, Subash Chandrabose Gandhi2

Keywords: Renewal theory, Stochastic processes, Manpower planning, Optimal staffing, Employee turnover, Workforce optimization

The paper includes a stochastic model of the optimal manpower planning in dynamic organizational systems based on
the renewal theory of employee turnover. We come up with a multi-level hierarchical staffing model, which involves
random departure times, replacement processes based on skills and cost optimization in the presence of uncertainty.

The offered methodology expands classical renewal theory by adding state-dependent renewal functions and multi-
dimensional counting processes to the dynamics of the contemporary workforce. The theory we have developed

provides closed-form solutions to optimal staffing levels when subjected to a number of organization constraints and
Monte Carlo simulations confirm the strength of the model when it comes to a number of industries. The empirical
validation based on the data of three multinational corporations shows that the workforce stability (15-23% decrease
in the understaffing cases) and cost efficiency (12-18% decrease in recruitment costs) has improved significantly as
opposed to the traditional deterministic methods. The practical applicability of the model is further facilitated by the
fact that development of adaptive algorithms is done to suit real-time organizational changes and external market
dynamics.

The Impact Of Information Technology On The Efficiency Of Nigeria Banking System. A Study Of The Bank Of Industry, Kaduna State.

Authors: Shumon Yem Gimson.

Keywords: significant reliability gap, which is currently undermining its other successful IT-driven systems.

The study examined the impact of information technology on the efficiency of Nigeria's banking system, with a specific focus on the Bank of Industry, Kaduna State. The study adopted the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as its theoretical framework. The study utilized a mixed-method design, specifically a survey and documentary research design. The population of the study was 400 staff and clients of the BOI Kaduna branch, and a sample of 200 participants was derived using the Taro Yamane formula. Both primary (questionnaire) and secondary (documentary review) methods were used to collect data for the study, and a quantitative statistical technique, Multiple Linear Regression, was used to analyze the data. The major findings revealed that the IT components collectively explained
72.8% of the variance in banking efficiency. It was also revealed that Core Banking Applications (p=.034) and Online Banking Platforms (p=.000) had the strongest significant positive effects on efficiency. It further revealed that Electronic Fund Transfers (p=.008) and Cybersecurity Measures (p=.015) also had a significant positive effect.
However, the bank's IT Infrastructure (p=.164) was found to have no statistically significant effect on operational reliability. The study concluded that IT has been a primary driver of improved efficiency in the Bank of Industry, drastically reducing loan processing times and operational costs. The study recommended among other things that the bank must prioritize strategic investment in its core IT infrastructure (networks, power, and servers) to address the significant reliability gap, which is currently undermining its other successful IT-driven systems.
