Android Application for Monitoring Medical Record. A Case Study of Fine Pharmacy Wakiso
Ategeka Benard, Kyomuhendo Charlotte
android application monitoring and medical record
The study aimed at android application for monitoring medical record with a case study of fine pharmacy wakiso and it was guided by the following objectives; To analyze the importance of records monitoring practice to Fine Pharmacy Wakiso, to analyze the state of records monitoring practice at Fine Pharmacy Wakiso, to determine how record monitoring affects the quality of health service delivery at the Fine Pharmacy Wakiso and to design an android electronic records management system. The study employed qualitative approach and descriptive methods to describe the characteristics of the research variables. It was qualitative in that opinions of the people were required and the researcher contextualized them according to his/her understanding. Quantitative data included annual company reports. The existing system is studied to establish its weak and strong points. The system was designed on Microsoft widow platform using SQLite for database design and java language that accepts running on virtual device. Once the application is installed, any authenticated user can access it from any work station by clicking on its icon on the interface of his android screen. The system was composed of two sections, the database and the graphic user interface as is architecture with inputoutput modules containing the user interface, the medical records system needed to be efficient in retrieving relevant data for medical record monitoring. The purpose of the design phase was to plan the solution of the problem specified by the requirements document. This phase was the first step in moving from the problem domain to the solution domain.in other words, starting with what was needed; design took us towards satisfying the needs. The design of a system was the most critical factor affecting the quality of the software. It has impact on the late phases as well as testing and maintenance of the software. The system should be well maintained and protected from unauthorized users.

Hospital Management System: Case Study of Naggalama Hospital Mukono District.
Nabachwa Mwamin, Namuyonga Rebecca
Hospital Management System
A Hospital is a health care facility that provides medical treatment to the sick or injured people. Management of hospital records can be manually in which the files are stored in file cabinets and in different locations/rooms which makes it hard for them to be found and updated or using a computer system that is time saving and cost effective. The aim of this study was to design a hospital management system of Naggalama Hospital in Mukono district. The researcher described system analysis and design for a hospital management system, detailing both hardware and software requirements. The hardware requirements included an Intel dual-core 2 T5750 processor, 4 GB RAM, and a 64-bit operating system. Software requirements encompassed Windows 10 as the operating system, along with HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript for the front end, and MySQL for the database. Functional requirements covered processes such as registration, checkout, report generation, and database management. Non-functional requirements included aspects like security, performance, maintainability, and reliability. The user requirements emphasized a user-friendly graphical interface and immediate data feedback. The systems design incorporates the Unified Modeling Language (UML) for visualizing, specifying, constructing, and documenting the software system and its components. The document also discussed unit testing, integration testing, functional testing, and system testing. Systems development involves inputs, processing, and outputs, considering professional boundaries and feedback. The implementation stage is highlighted as critical for turning the theoretical design into a functional system, ensuring its success and user confidence. In conclusion, hospital administrators would be able to improve the response time to the demands of patient care because it automates the process of collecting, collating and retrieving patient information. This product eliminated any such complexity. The researcher however recommended that hospitals currently practicing the manual system hospital management should switch to the electronic system because it is more efficient and easier to use.

Integrated Financial Management System on Financial Reporting of Local Government in Uganda, a Case Study of Mukono District Local Government
Nansereko Lazia, Ntirandekura Moses
Financial Management and financial reporting
Despite the tireless effort by the government to achieve the objectives of IFMS, corruption in local government has remained reasonably high, frequent load shadings and network break down have retarded work progress, inadequate skills by the staff have slowed down the success, transparency in Public Finance Management has not been fully achieved. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of integrated financial management system on financial reported of local government in Uganda in Mukono district. The study used a descriptive research design. Purposive and stratified sampling techniques were employed so as to realize results with ease. This involved identifying different departments of Mukono District Head Quarters as the strata, thereafter random sampling techniques was employed to minimize bias in the study. The summary of the key findings indicated that 42.8% of the respondents used IFMS daily whereas 28.7% of the respondents used the software weekly. The table also shows 14.5% of the respondents used IFMS monthly while 10.1% of the respondents used the software quarterly. Lastly, 3.9% of the respondents used IFMS annually. Therefore, the majority of the respondents used IFMIS daily. Findings as well indicated that there was a strong positive significant relationship between auditing information system and performance of Mukono local government which was statistically significant at 99% level of significance as indicted by the P – Value (0.00). The researcher therefore recommends that public sector organizations such as the Local Government should leverage on the efficiency and effectiveness gains of the system to consolidate stakeholder confidence through more awareness and publicity of the achievements.

Online Events Ticketing Management System a Case Study of Namboole Stadium
Nassimbwa Fatumah, Ntirandekura Moses
Management System
Currently, the event planning system available provides services only during the working days meaning that customers have limited time to make reservations for particular services and the customers take their time to travel to the event management offices to book for the event and even going to the bank and pay the money. Additionally, there is a lot of paper work pertaining the events scheduled and those pending schedules. This study therefore aimed at designing an online events ticketing system of Namboole stadium. The secondary objective was to analyze the existing management system used by Namboole stadium. The study employed qualitative approach and descriptive methods to describe the characteristics of the research variables. The existing system was studied to establish its weak and strong points and the information that was acquired from this study was given the basis for the design of the system. System investigation was carried to help the researcher gather information also about the objectives /goals of the stadium its nature of scope about the problem under taken in the study and how will it be over coming. The study constituted both female and male employees of Namboole stadium and customers from different areas. The system design was hierarchical in nature.

Online Voting System. A Case Study of the Pearl of Africa Music Awards.
Kiwanuka Anthone, Kalinaki Hussein, Kyomuhendo Charlotte
online voting and system
Most of the awards in Uganda be it politically motivated, sports, music or academic have been resolved by a majority vote and those some of them are conducted physically the biggest batch of musical awards have been conducted electronically largely on social media accounts and some on specific websites whose links are provided on different social media accounts and though some others are carried out using mobile phone SMS. This has resulted into so many irregularities and cries of malpractice rendering the whole election a sham and therefore making the credibility of the outcomes questionable. In this project proposal I carried out immense research and came up with a system proposal that could be used to solve most of the flaws of the current system thereby coming up with a new and better system to carry out these activities and improving the credibility of the whole results and outcomes hence adding quality to the awards. The case study was the Pearl of Africa Music (PAM) awards which were at their peak during the early 2010s and started to decline during the later parts of the 2010s with the majority of the population complaining of vote rigging and other malpractices which damaged the credibility of the awards immensely and hence damaging the awards as a whole leading to their decline and eventual collapse. The researcher has reason to believe that with the proposed system the awards can be resurrected stronger and better with more credibility and transparency and therefore acting as a benchmark for other electronic voting systems and other related research in a similar field.
