Abstract
The study examined the relationship between electronic funds transfer (e-funds transfer) and financial performance at Stanbic Bank Kawempe Branch in Uganda. Using a quantitative research design, data was collected from 85 respondents comprising bank staff and management through structured questionnaires and secondary data analysis covering the period 2020-2023. The results revealed a strong positive correlation (r = 0.782, p < 0.01) between e- funds transfer adoption and financial performance indicators. Transaction volumes increased by 156% over the study period, while operational costs decreased by 23%. Customer satisfaction scores improved from 68% to 87%, and the bank's return on assets (ROA) increased from 2.3% to 3.8%. The study concluded that e-funds transfer systems significantly enhanced financial performance through increased transaction efficiency, reduced operational costs, expanded customer base, and improved service delivery. The study recommended that Stanbic Bank should invest more in e-funds transfer infrastructure, enhance cybersecurity measures, conduct regular staff training on digital platforms, and develop customer education programs to maximize the benefits of electronic banking systems.
