Nabangi Emmanuel, Otim John William

Abstract

The study examined the relationship between procurement efficiency and customer acquisition by organizations in Nansana Municipality, Uganda. The research adopted a cross-sectional survey design with a sample of 120 respondents from various organizations. Data was collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson correlation and regression analysis. Results revealed a significant positive relationship between procurement efficiency and customer acquisition (r=0.742, p<0.01). Procurement lead time, supplier reliability, and cost efficiency were identified as critical factors influencing customer acquisition outcomes. The study concluded that organizations with efficient procurement systems demonstrated superior customer acquisition rates compared to those with inefficient systems. It was recommended that organizations invest in modern procurement technologies, develop strategic supplier partnerships, and establish performance monitoring systems to enhance procurement efficiency and subsequently improve customer acquisition capabilities.
