Natamba Daphine, Akampurira Sarah, Dr Ariyo Gracious Kazaara
roads and food security
Finding out whether there was a connection among roads and food security in Kisoro Municipality, Kisoro District, was the main goal of this study. The level of road improvement in Kisoro Municipality and the level of food security in Kisoro Municipality, Kisoro District, were among the other goals. To obtain a sample size of eighty participants from Kisoro Municipality, Kisoro District using Solvin's formula, the study utilized a case study research design, cross-sectional in qualitative, and statistical designs. Additionally, simple random chance sampling and deliberate sampling methods were used. The study's target populations were 38 road builders, 40 landowners, the chairman of LC 5 and the district management officer. Microsoft Excel was used to analyze the data, which was then displayed as the distribution of frequencies tables and pie charts. The study's data were analyzed using SPSS software. When the level of road transport expansion is high, the level of food security is also high because agricultural goods can be shipped safely to markets and from landscaping, whereas when the level of road transport expansion is low, the level of food security is also low. This was discovered to be an extremely significant positive connection between roads and food security at r = 0.708. The researcher recommended the government to provide food storage stores in different parts of Kisoro District to store food and use it in times of food scarcity. The researcher also recommended the government to construct tarmacked roads to ease transport of research.miu.ac.ug/publications 1026 METROPOLITAN JOURNAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND HEALTH RESEARCH ISSN: 1813-4270 Vol. 2 Issue 3, June - 2023, Pages: 1026-1040 people and agricultural produce in Kisoro District.

technological advancement and environmental conservation
The major objective of this study lied in finding out whether there was a relationship between technological advancement and environmental conservation in Kisoro Municipality, Kisoro district. Other objectives included; to find out the extent of environmental conservation in Kisoro Municipality and to find out the level of technological advancement in Kisoro Municipality. The study adopted a descriptive and observational research design and simple random probability sampling technique was used to obtain a sample size of 80 respondents from a target population of 45 residents in Kisoro Municipality using solvin’s formula. The investigator discovered an extremely favorable connection between technological development and conserving the environment at r = 0.707, and since the sig. value (.000) was far below the threshold of importance required to declare an important connection between scientific growth and conserving the environment, this suggests that the level of technological development in a region has a significant impact on the rate of ecological preservation. The study came to the conclusion that there has been little improvement in technology, and that this is due to both low innovation and poverty. The investigator came to the additional conclusion that human activities such deforestation, bush burning, marsh restoration, and inadequate sewage disposal contributed to the district of Rukungiri's limited environmental conservation. technological advancement and environmental conservation
The major objective of this study lied in finding out whether there was a relationship between technological advancement and environmental conservation in Rukungiri district. Other objectives included; to find out the extent of environmental conservation in Nyarushanje subcounty and to find out the level of technological advancement in Nyarushanje sub-county. In order to generate a sample size of forty participants from a target population of 45 individuals in Nyarushanje sub-county using Solvin's formula, the study used a descriptive and observational research methodology. According to the research, there is a 0.469** link between technological development and environmental preservation. The Pearson correlation between the two variables was moderately positive, as demonstrated by the value of 0.469. The Pearson correlation coefficient's p-value (Sig. 2-tailed) was 0.000, which was below the 0.05 threshold for significance. This revealed that there was a statistically significant association between technical development and environmental preservation. The study came to the conclusion that in the Rukungiri district, technical development and environmental preservation are positively correlated. This was due to the fact that the degree of environmental conservation is significantly influenced by the amount of technology in the region. urbanization and slum development
The major objective of this study lied in finding out whether there was a relationship between urbanization and slum development. Other objectives included; to find out the extent of urban development in Kisoro Municipality, to find out the level of slum development in Kisoro Municipality and to find out the relationship between urbanization and slum development in Kisoro Municipality. The study adopted a descriptive and observational research design and simple random probability sampling technique was used to obtain a sample size of 80 respondents from a target population of 50 residents in Makindye division using solvins formula. The investigator discovered that there is an extremely favorable correlation between increasing urbanization and the growth of slums at r = 0.723, and since the sig. value (.000) was much less than 0.01, which is the highest level of importance required to declare the connection between increasing urbanization and slum improvement, this indicates that when the level of gentrification is high, the level of slum development is also high, and this is due to many clustered settlements with poor lighting. The investigator came to the conclusion on this objective from the data that there is significant urban development, which is caused by a variety of variables including the area's population density, the market for goods, security, and labor availability. The study came to the conclusion that this target had a significant slum population, which was caused by poverty and low living standards. The investigator advised government agencies to support repatriation of individuals, the development of economic research.miu.ac.ug/publications 362 METROPOLITAN JOURNAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND HEALTH RESEARCH ISSN: 1813-4270 Vol. 2 Issue 3, June - 2023, Pages: 362-378 possibilities, and the provision of security for those living in slum regions.
