Kamugisha Nelson
Teachers Qualifications Pupil’s Academic Performance and Government Primary Schools
This mixed methods study sought to provide robust empirical insights into the relationship between teacher qualification dynamics and differential student achievement patterns across Nyakatare, Karuhinda and Kirima Primary Schools located in remote communities within Kanungu District, Uganda over a five-year period. As ongoing skills upgrading of instructors represents a key leverage point to enhance pedagogical effectiveness and learning outcomes, understanding varied impacts according to implementation feasibility is paramount, especially in under-resourced contexts. To address knowledge gaps, annual primary leaving examination performance data from 2018 to 2022 spanning all P7 cohorts from the three target institutions were compiled from Uganda National Examinations Board archives and merged with a census survey enumerating instructor profiles and development exposures over the same timeframe. Quantitative regression analyses isolated impacts of fluctuating teacher qualification intensities on subject mastery while controlling for confounding factors. In-depth interviews with stakeholders elucidated qualitative transitions in didactic practices and learning environments associated with altered capabilities over the period. Rigorous mixed methodological triangulation afforded novel empirical evidence highlighting differentiated effects according to modalities such as a specialized evening diploma programme benefiting Karuhinda Primary versus geographically isolated Nyakatare confronting constraints. From the findings, the correlation value of 0.692 implied that higher levels of pedagogical training received by teachers was linked to their students achieving better academic results. In other words, the more trained teachers were in teaching methods and strategies, the higher performance they tend to facilitate for their students. Findings illuminated tailored, evidence-based solution pathways towards sustainably maximizing returns on tight education investments through incremental yet customized skills cultivation anchored within communities. With optimal implementation, findings demonstrated potential for meaningfully accelerated progression across Kanungu District's network of underserved remote primary institutions.

The research also used secondary data collected through peer-reviewed articles, journals, and websites. It was observed that 42% of the student respondents use computer at least twice a week, 25% everyday,17% once a week and the rest 16 % which shows that very few students use computer every day. Urbanization And Its Effects On Centers And Communities: A Case Study Of Mbarara City
Naijuka Edwin, Mayaja Moses
Urbanization Centers And Communities
Uganda has been experiencing rapid rates of urbanization over the past decades which has brought many opportunities but also developmental challenges for local authorities. Mbarara City in South Western Uganda offers an invaluable case study due to its extraordinarily high population growth from 100,000 to over 233,233 residents between 2002 to 2014 according to national census data, exerting massive pressure on its limited infrastructure and services. This study sought to conduct an in-depth analysis of the multiplier effects of this unprecedented urban expansion through a mixed methods research approach incorporating quantitative and qualitative data collection from key city institutions and local communities. Official reports indicate that more than 65% of Mbarara City's residents presently occupy overcrowded informal settlements with inadequate access to basic amenities as public service coverage lags behind at only 30% for water and 25% for electricity as the city's limited resources have been overwhelmed trying to accommodate the demands of a mushrooming population. Field observations and key informant interviews further revealed deteriorating environmental sanitation, chronic housing shortages, dilapidated road networks, high 30% youth unemployment, acute land use conflicts and rising insecurity issues associated with the city's unequipped response to rapid urbanization. The findings shown that 37% responded that urbanization led to increased trade, then 30% responded that urbanization created employment for the people, 24% said that urbanization improved social service provision and finally 9% said that urbanization led to wealth creation of individuals in the centers and communities of Mbarara city. All political leaders should be sensitized to go ahead and attend high levels of education because some leaders could not understand some English statements and also failed to understand the reasons to why I was doing research despite the fact that prior explanation was given to them about the latter.

Women Community Engagement Empowerment And Social Changes
This study aimed to investigate the relationship between women's community engagement and empowerment and social changes in Mbarara City, Uganda. Women's empowerment and positive social changes are important for development and achieving greater gender equality. However, women often face barriers to full participation in community development initiatives. This research sought to understand how increasing women's engagement could help address this issue. A cross-sectional survey design was employed to collect both quantitative and qualitative data from 150 women in Mbarara City between January and March 2023. Participants were randomly selected from community groups involved in activities like savings clubs, health committees and education programs. Questionnaires captured information on demographics, level of involvement in groups, perceptions of empowerment and observed social changes. In-depth interviews further explored experiences of engagement and its impacts. The results of inferential and descriptive statistical analysis revealed a moderate positive correlation between women's engagement and feelings of empowerment, as well as observable social changes reported in their communities. The study shown that for each one unit increased in women's engagement, empowerment and social change was expected to increase by 0.523 units on average, as indicated by the unstandardized B coefficient of 0.523 for women's engagement. The p-value of 0.000 confirms that this predictor makes a statistically significant contribution to explaining the outcome variable. Respondents in Mbarara city should focus on involving women in the community in order to realize development and change.
