Ordinary least squares productivity function's restricted logarithmlikelihood function's value under the null hypothesis (H0) is -50.32, while the unpredictable Cobb-Douglas function's unrestricted log probability function's value under the alternative hypothesis (H1) is -46.759. This indicated that LR = -2*(-50.32+46.759) =7.122 was the generalized likelihood-ratio (LR) statistic for assessing the lack of a technological inefficiency effect from the frontier. This value was more than the 5% level of significance's crucial 1) (5%, 2 value of 3.84. Producers ought to be given access to trustworthy markets where they may sell their potatoes at competitive prices. The study was guided by the following objectives: To examine the contribution of USE on students’ academic performance, to establish the role of USE in promoting Girl Child education and to find out the challenges facing the implementation of USE program in Nebbi Municipality. Qualitative and Quantitative research designs were used. A Sample of 38 respondents was selected and participated in the study. The data was collected using questionnaires. Purposive sampling was used in conjunction with simple random sample to enable the investigator to choose responders from a variety of categories. According to the survey, learning achievement at USE schools is still subpar and has a poor completion rate. Adolescents who struggle to graduate fare significantly worse on national examinations than their peers from non-USE institutions. Even though the program struggles with poor retention rates, the survey found that it has had a significant positive impact on USE school registrations. The results in the table show that the USE program has made it more challenging to maintain children's interest because of crowded classrooms, which has a negative impact on productivity. 66 percent and 13 percent of participants, who were in agreement and disagreement with the statement, respectively, supported this opinion. Only 21% of people disapproved with the assertion, on the other hand. The study identified a number of issues that hindered the execution of the USE program, including: insufficient and slow government funding distribution to schools, parental carelessness, overflowing classrooms, and extreme partisanship. To optimize the benefits of the program, it was advised that the USE program be completely revamped. research.miu.ac.ug/publications 470 METROPOLITAN JOURNAL OF SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH ISSN: 1813-4270 Vol. 2 Issue 4, July - 2023, Pages: 470-484

Dr Emmanuel Erem, Kato S.B. Patrick, Kadhiri Rwambale, Robert Kisembo
exports imports and foreign direct investment
Exports, imports, and foreign direct investment were used as proxies in this study to examine the relationship between global trade and economic growth in Uganda from 1988 to 2018. Exports, imports, and foreign direct investment all strongly positively and significantly correlated with economic growth, according to empirical evidence. Unit root tests were performed using the Augmented Dickey Fuller test, and the results showed that all variables started out non-stationary but subsequently became constant. Due of the long-term correlations between the variables, cointegration was established using the Engle Granger Cointegration test. The variables' rate of adaptation to the long run within a one-year lag was 57%. Collectively, foreign investment, imports, and exports contribute for 77% of changes in the country's GDP. 23% of the variations in the growing size of the economy were caused by extra factors in the error term that were not included in the model. Because the F statistic was considered statistically significant, exports, imports, and foreign direct investment all have a significant impact on economic growth in the short run. For the sake of making policy suggestions, it is encouraged to use export marketing strategies to grow Uganda's exports and to give domestic businesses tax breaks to improve the way they perform. A welcoming investment atmosphere must also be provided for Uganda to attract foreign direct investment.
